US to Revise Iraq Self Rule Plan While Holding June 30 Deadline

U S administrator L Paul Bremer said Washington will revise its plan to grant Iraq self rule after talks with President Bush but will not delay the June 30 deadline to end the occupation and transfer power. The United States may seek UN help, reversing earlier stance. Hamas founder Ahmed Yassin dismissed death threats in Gaza, vowing continued attacks as cease-fire efforts falter after a deadly Hamas bombing and Israeli retaliation hangs over the peace process. Israeli officials suggested targeted killings of Hamas leaders could resume, though Defense Ministry talks did not confirm a Yassin strike plan.
