Dear Ann Landers readers share lessons on home love and gossip

Ann Landers affirms inner security over wealth and urges girls to overlook shabby surroundings, not to be ashamed, and to tape the message as reassurance. In another note a Indianapolis reader questions a friend’s fish illness claim, and Ann suggests the guest’s tale likely came from elsewhere, not the host’s cooking.
