Supreme Court to hear Perry suit in Kansas
The Kansas Supreme Court will consider County Clerk Shaun Perry's lawsuit against the Franklin County Commission. Perry seeks review after the county moved payroll duties from her office to the county human resources department. A district judge previously dismissed the suit, ruling payroll prep not a required clerk duty. Perry appealed to the Court of Appeals in June.

Blue Cross offers ValueBlue plan for uninsured Kansans
The state's largest insurer announced a new half-cost plan for uninsured Kansans starting March 1 in 87 counties including Anderson. Eligibility targets households at or below twice the federal poverty level with no insurance in the past year, with $25 doctor visits and $100 prescription costs. The plan mirrors AffordaBlue but at half cost, absorbing administrative fees, while some counties lack signed providers yet.
