Club News brings together sewing and 4-H acts and guests
Nineteen members and three guests attended the Zig-Zag Sewing Club gathering at Berniece Peterson’s Greeley home for a luncheon. Guests included Rita Peterson and Grace Donhon among others, with prizes won by Edith Hornberger and Viola Sommer. 2006 dues paid. a cash donation given to a local needy family group. The Rowdy Wranglers 4-H Club held its December meeting with treasurer’s report of 892.55, and plans for County Club Day on February 11. Visitors Jeffery Adee, Rebecca Verbes, and Emma Rossman joined. new member Seth Rossman installed. activities included a Jingle Bells singalong, pottery demo, Meals on Wheels bag decorating, and food drive for Hope House. The next sewing club meeting will be at Cathy’s Corner Cafe in Paola hosted by Connie Fullerton.

Kansas certifies water and wastewater operators
Several area water treatment and wastewater treatment operators from July to December 2005 were certified this week by the Kansas Department of Health and Environment. The group includes Pat Campbell of Franklin County Rural Water District No. 4 in Williamsburg and Toby Aguirre, Ralph Burton, and John M. Graffham of Ottawa, among others. KDHE secretary Roderick L. Bremby praised the new certified operators for protecting public health and the environment.
