County residents lodge road complaints on guard rails at Acorn Bridge
County commissioners fielded several road worries during a Wednesday meeting. April Cochran of Princeton urged guard rails on the Acorn Bridge on John Brown Road east of Princeton, noting heavy use by buses. Jim Haag said plans lacked rails. They also heard a concern about the Pawnee and Oregon roads intersection east of Ottawa and vacated a mile of Ohio Road near Kingman Labette. The panel referred the latter to Haag, allowed driveways to remain open at landowners’ request, and left access disputes to landowners. The session included notes on county Extension seminars, a national ID cattle tracking effort, milo crop outlook, and obesity outreach in schools, plus an update from East Central Kansas Area on Aging and appointment to its advisory council.
