NFC championship coaches diverge in plans and style
In the Bay Area clash at Candlestick Park, Rams coach John Robinson and 49ers mentor George Seifert showcase contrasting methods. Robinson, an administrator turned coach, leads a high‑scoring unit with Ernie Zampese and Fritz Shurmur guiding offense and defense, while Seifert, the meticulous technician, quickly asserted control after Walsh’s era, disciplining players and balancing a mix of cautious leadership with a light, unconventional touch.
