Franklin debate grows over space in shared Franklin building

City Commissioner Gene Ramsey urged a joint meeting within two weeks of Earl Devore, Scott Lambers, and Mayor Vicki Cummiskey to resolve the space-sharing dispute in the Franklin building. County Hears Clash Over Liquor Rules At Franklin County

County Attorney Larry Wright says the county seeks to attract good restaurants by limiting dancing in drinking establishments. Clark questions license fees and an occupation tax, accusing the commission of targeting two local businesses Timberlake and himself. School bond aims to fund $19 million district expansion

Weather outlook shows clearing fog and cooler nights

Tonight the forecast calls for mostly cloudy skies with fog again and near freezing lows. Thursday remains dry with milder temperatures, then Friday and Saturday stay dry with cooler nights and mild days, highs from the upper 40s to lower 60s and lows in the 20s to 30s.

County liquor rules trigger potential lawsuit, Clark says

Clark criticized Franklin County for requiring bars to close at 1 30 a m instead of the state 2 a m rule. He warned of a lawsuit over several recent measures and argued that local businesses are vital, paying a 10 percent liquor excise tax to the state with about 70 percent returning to the county.
