New county officials take office in county commission
Three new commissioners Don Stottlemire Ed Taylor and Fred Ferguson took oaths as the county Commission chambers filled with family and officials. Weigand Fuller and Ogle left the board after 11 years while Raymond Carey and Don Waymire were named chairman and vice chairman. The morning also included the swearing in of County Attorney John Dowell who handed each commissioner a duties notebook. The group began reviewing December planning recommendations on zoning including a housing development outside town and the Dodson Aviation salvage yard near Rantoul. Diane Drake from Franklin County Mental Health outlined the center and invited the panel to a funded legislators luncheon next week.
