Violence opens 1985 with mass slayings in six states
A violent start to 1985 left at least 22 dead across six states. The spree included a Michigan double murder of an estranged wife and others, and a Santa Barbara shooting where Barry McNamara killed his parents, sister, and niece after a phone call observed by a friend.
