Markets Mixed As Profit-Taking Drags Dow From Highs
Wall Street in thin profit taking after a New Year rally with the Dow down 26.07 to 10,518.00 while the Nasdaq rose 4.95 to 2,052.31 and the S&P 500 slipped 0.79 to 1,121.43. Analysts expect further upside despite a Commerce Department report showing a 1.4 percent drop in November factory orders, deeming it a blip in a generally improving economy. Gateway Inc shares fell to 4.36 after cutting Q4 revenue forecasts amid inventory and competition issues. Local grain prices at Overbrook Co-op and Franklin County Consolidated Farm Services are listed for several commodities.
