Washington AP report says the Pay Board vetoed its first labor contract by rejecting a 12 percent raise for aerospace workers on a 95 vote. The board did not fix a new figure, simply turning down the motion to approve the raise. Open after the vote, it may set a standard for renegotiations. AFL-CIO IAM and United Auto Workers plan a strategy session in St. Louis with 300 negotiators next Saturday.
