Carlin seeks 1.5 million for teacher training and campus projects
The plan requests 1.5 million to fund in service training for teachers and updates to education. It also proposes major campus construction under the Kansas Board of Regents, maintenance and repair funding, a 500 thousand Farmers Assistance Counseling and Training Service, and a 500 thousand increase to the state superfund with welfare program boosts totaling about 2.9 million. The governor aims to raise cash reserves to 115.6 million by June 1986 and 132 million by June 1996, but without new money reserves could fall below 100 million, risking cash flow.
