Vows exchanged despite setbacks in Kansas ceremony

Geary County Attorney Chris Biggs wed Jo Anne Thomlinson in a hospital conference room after a morning crash. Biggs, bruised and in a wheelchair, walked into the ceremony. the couple's plans shifted from a rural home to Geary County Community Hospital. Police investigated a search warrant case linked to an Army private stabbed earlier.

Water rights deadline looms in Kansas reports due

Fumes force YMCA evacuation in Prairie Village

About 20 people were evacuated from the Prairie Village YMCA after a carbon monoxide leak. No injuries were reported. A gas odor triggered the call to fire officials at 7 30 a m. Eighteen children and three adults were at an overnight slumber party and several reported illness from the fumes. The gas entered the building due to a downdraft in a vent pipe for the pool heating unit.
