Roy A. Roberts, longtime Kansas native and retired chairman of the Kansas City Star, dies after a 56 year career in journalism. A key figure since succeeding William Rockhill Nelson, he helped mold the Star into a leading national newspaper through his work as reporter, editor, and manager.
Roy Roberts, a respected political writer and longtime adviser to presidents and Kansas City officials, was also a dedicated educator.
