In South Windsor Connecticut Deputy Sheriff Edmund Dwyer pursued a stolen vehicle. The fleeing car crashed and caught fire as a youth leaped out. Dwyer pursued the suspect, who urged him to chase the driver, but the youth vanished before capture.

Mrs Herman Stowe Dies at 49 in Wichita
Mrs Herman Stowe of Wichita aged 49 and formerly of Ottawa died Monday after a stroke Saturday two weeks earlier. Born Bernice Sutherland November 2 1907 in Ottawa she lived there until moving to Wichita 15 years ago with her husband and family. Survivors include husband Roberta and Gordon at home Gary in Japan Donald Lank Wichita and Mrs Jerry Gable Kansas City five grandchildren and eight siblings. Funeral Friday at 10 am Culbertson Mortuary Wichita with burial in Wichita.

Fugitive Charge Is Dismissed
INDIANAPOLIS A fugitive charge against Harry Anderson 50 was dismissed in Municipal Court after authorities in Junction City Kansas failed to send a warrant for larceny by trick involving a secretarial school that never opened. He was freed on 1500 bail. Anderson previously ran a Michigan City secretarial school and disappeared from Grand Island Nebraska last September.

DETROIT. Company and union negotiators reached an agreement early today to settle issues that threatened to halt assembly operations and idle about 100,000 Chrysler workers in the Detroit area.
