Wellsville District approves bond for new elementary school

Voters backed an $8.7 million project to replace Wellsville Elementary with a 655-student facility adjacent to the current campus. The plan aims to ease space constraints, support growth, and attract residents as construction expected to start in March for the 2002 2003 school year. The state contributes about 26 percent of the cost, with local taxpayers covering the rest.
