Wall Street Falls as Compaq Cuts Quarterly Outlook
At noon on Wall Street the Dow dropped 66.01 to 9300.33 and the S P 500 slipped 10.36 to 1234.66 while the Nasdaq fell 37.24 to 2289.58. Compaq warned slow sales in its small and medium business market prompting Merrill Lynch and Credit Suisse First Boston to cut its first quarter earnings outlook and sending the stock lower along with IBM Gateway and Dell.
