A Kia SUV overturned Friday at mile marker 193 on I-35 about five miles north of Ottawa killing one person. The Kansas Highway Patrol reported the single-vehicle crash about 3 15 p m, prompting a two hour northbound detour from K 68. It marks Franklin County s second fatal wreck of the year.
Franklin County officials said Rock Creek Development Park, a 330 acre site south of Ottawa, is nearing final engineering design. Groundbreaking could start as early as late summer, with Bartlett and West contracted for nearly 2 million dollars. The Franklin County Development Council prioritizes a new marketing plan, website redesign, project tracker and industry conferences to attract site selectors across a 17 state region.
