Fighting continues on eve of Powell visit
Palestinian and Israeli forces exchange fire as Secretary of State designate Powell prepares for a two day trip. A Palestinian man dies and another is wounded amid mortars and gunfire near Gaza and the West Bank. In Gaza and northern settlements, roads are blocked and two Palestinian police stations near Al Sinai are hit. A 21 year old Palestinian is killed in Al Khader while a 19 year old is seriously wounded. 407 people have been killed in the conflict since September, including 333 Palestinians and dozens of Israelis. Roadside bombs in southern Gaza lightly wound a soldier.
