West Franklin weighs calendar changes to preserve AYP incentive
West Franklin officials consider options after snow days run out to keep the Adequate Yearly Progress incentive. Board votes to hold March 10 11 as a work day to preserve two extra snow days and cushion weather disruptions. Alternatives include lengthening the day by 20 minutes or adding days, with concerns about bus routes, after hours activities, and parental schedules. The district may decide closer to year end whether to continue this approach or adjust next year.
