St Mary of the Plains to close after semester in Dodge City
St Mary of the Plains College in Dodge City Kansas will shut down after June 30 1990 due to large losses and federal student aid problems tied to the American Truck Driving School project. President Bernard Parker cited a 43.7 percent loan default rate and said removing the driving school would drop the rate to 8.1 percent with 837 students affected. The Sisters of St. Joseph run the college which faced multi million losses and the nursing school in Wichita will close August 30 1990.
