Snowy Day In Ottawa Boosts KDOT Budget For Winter Repair
Snow totals exceed an inch at the Ottawa Water Treatment Plant as crews from Ottawa, Franklin County, and KDOT clear slick roads after a warm spell. KDOT public affairs manager Kimberly Qualls notes the five year average winter budget is $18 million and this dry spell may leave funds for additional patching. Forecasts show no more snow in February with rising highs into the 40s and 50s and only a risk of freezing rain in coming weeks.
