Searchers recovered a 18 inch by 26 to 27 inch section of Columbia wing at the western edge of the debris field near Fort Worth Texas The piece reinforces the wings leading edges in heat during re entry It may belong to the left wing where sensors had shown high temperatures before failing Authorities moved the fragment to a Fort Worth military installation for inspection An amnesty deadline for scavengers ended with hundreds of pieces turned in and FBI cooperation to identify others who might have parts

Clark County approves a 50 story hotel and a 12 story Ferris wheel around a man made lake with 20 yachts as part of a $650 million Sahara Las Vegas Voyager Entertainment project. The plan includes 3 250 hotel rooms and timeshares plus 78 suites on boats. Voyager also proposes a second version in Shanghai.
