Former Garnett Church Furnishings building finds new tenants
An Olathe based shutter and blinds company plans to buy the former Garnett Church Furnishings building at Garnett and move a production facility there. Woodland Shutters aims to complete the sale by March 15 and have full production this spring with about 22 production workers plus administrative staff. Salaries range from 7.50 to 15 dollars an hour. The 37000 square foot facility sits in the Golden Prairie Industrial Park after Garnett Church Furnishings folded and sold the site to a competitor. The company will phase in Garnett production, offering some transfers from Olathe while hiring largely from Garnett area, and will receive a four year property tax rebate based on workforce.
