Pomona considers alley parking ban amid safety concerns
Franklin County Sheriff Craig Davis questioned the no parking ordinance targeting the alley behind William Bayne’s Law Office and Old Time Liquor Store. He warned enforcement could cause traffic hazards if delivery trucks move to the highway, with councilmember Bill Hewitt noting violators would be fined. Bayne and others cited frequent blockages by delivery vehicles and a large power pole complicating alley access. The council also raised liquor offense fines, approved three emergency generators, and discussed new park playground equipment.
