Wheat crop looks strong across Kansas this winter
Kansas agronomy notes report northwest and southwestern areas show uniform stands, dark green color, and slower growth due to cool temps. Rain and snow improve soil moisture, aiding a spring push. Acreage rises to 9.5 million with high prices driving plantings, but subsoil moisture remains a concern as farmers hope for favorable moisture through spring and a good fall harvest. John Schlageck comments on crop prospects.
