County Sanitarian Relieved. new appointee to take over
County officials announced that Cain would not continue as sanitarian and that a new appointee, an existing county employee, would assume the post. The move follows a push to place sanitation under the health department, with Pruner noting ongoing code revamps and public hearings. The health department provides immunizations and other services, while the sanitarian duties include septic system checks and sanitation education. The commission kept the sanitarian office in the annex with the public works department and will relocate Cain's transfer station office to the old adult education site.
