Flying dreams take wing for Ottawa woman
Kathy Waymire daughter of Mr and Mrs Charles R Waymire Ottawa RFD 3 began flying in her father's plane three years ago. She earned her private license in Lawrence and now teaches and flies at Piper Flite Center Johnson County Airport Olathe. She holds commercial, instrument, multi engine, flight instructor and instrument instructor ratings and aims for a multi engine instructor rating. She urges women to pursue aviation and notes the field offers vast opportunities including airline, crop dusting, corporate and missionary piloting as well as photography and mapping. She emphasizes safety and thorough preflight checks and says her future lies in aviation, with aspirations toward long range goals in airlines.
