Commission closes books on 1990
Winter City commissioners met for the final time in 1990 and tied up loose ends in a special call meeting. They approved an ordinance deleting references to the Department of Public Safety and aligning the Municipal Code with separate police and fire departments. The code also redirects city engineering to planning and zoning. Commissioners also approved a beer license for National Marketing Company of Kansas Inc. Stop-N-Save on Main Street. An update on Jefferson Bus Lines’ building search discussed potential cab dispatch office and ticketing, requiring zoning changes and special use permits.
