An icing of snow covers pine needles in Forest Park Ottawa and surrounding area reported 2 to 4 inches overnight with Ottawa measuring 2.5 inches by 7 a.m. Fresh snow complicates roadways as relief is on the way.
Snow packed highways challenged motorists as more than 2 inches fell in Ottawa and Franklin County. Crews from local and state agencies worked to clear roads while forecast calm returns. Franklin County emergency director Alan Radcliffe noted progress but warned it would take hours to finish.
