Gas Line Operations and Safety at Ottawa Station
The Ottawa plant uses seven large engines to compress natural gas for transit. Operators adjust pressure per line based on weather and demand, with Peculiar Missouri station opening for winter. Gas is cooled and some is diverted to run engines. the system aims for safety, acknowledging danger if air mixes with gas.
