New CTX-5000 X ray bombs detection arrives at airports
The FAA said 54 CTX-5000 machines will be built and installed in 1997 under a 52.2 million contract with Vision Technologies. The CTX-5000 uses medical CT scan tech to map luggage from multiple angles and flag explosives. It is the only system to pass FAA certification and initial checks take seven to 15 seconds.

Gunman shoots three at McDonald’s in Vallejo Calif
A gunman entered a Vallejo California McDonald’s at about 9 20 p m Thursday and shot three female employees in the head. One 17 year old was airlifted in critical condition. A 21 year old was hospitalized with head arm and leg wounds. A second 17 year old had a superficial wound and was stable. The lone customer inside was uninjured. The shooter fled on foot with no robbery or words spoken.

A 64-year-old Kansas City man, Jesus Salas, died after becoming trapped while trying to drag a burning Christmas tree from his home. Firefighters faced a three alarm blaze that started shortly before 5 p.m. and spread to two adjacent houses. Salas' wife, a son, and two grandsons escaped with minor injuries.

Priests Mugged At St Patrick's Cathedral On Christmas Day
