Christmas storm rips through Midwest and nation

A fierce Christmas storm dumped heavy snow and ice across the Midwest and beyond, closing highways and airports as travelers faced travel disruption. Officials warned of blizzards across the northern plains and bitter wind chills in Montana while Oklahoma declared a state of emergency. Dozens killed across the week as roads grew treacherous. Weather crews worked to restore power in multiple states including Oklahoma, Kansas, Nebraska, Illinois, and Iowa as towns like Deloit and Manilla faced outages.
