Christmas trees boost SUV drag at University of Vermont
In Montpelier Vermont engineers from the University of Vermont report sport utility vehicles with top loaded Christmas trees experience 26 percent more aerodynamic drag than empty SUVs. They estimate about 53 000 extra gallons of gasoline used annually to retrieve trees.
