Kosovo Albanian claims Serb assault on six villages near Podujevo
Ethnic Albanian sources say Serb police and military backed by tanks attacked six villages near Podujevo, 20 miles from Pristina, burning houses and killing at least one villager. The Kosovo Information Center noted the report could not be independently confirmed and warned of potential ethnic cleansing. NATO officials had warned against further attacks amid a fragile cease-fire.
