Mesa Drops Phillips Bid in Settlement After Hostile Fight
An investors group led by T. Boone Pickens Jr. will gain about 90 million dollars, as Mesa Petroleum and Phillips Petroleum settle to end lawsuits across Oklahoma Texas Louisiana and Delaware. The agreement includes a stock exchange plan, a 15 year no‑acquire pledge, and reimbursement of Mesa's takeover expenses. Phillips, based in Bartlesville Oklahoma, remains the larger firm with sales near 12 billion in the nine months to date.
