No 9 OU baseball and softball teams captured KCAC titles with standout seasons. Baseball rose from last to first under second year coach Joe Reed, finishing 28-18 after a playoff loss to Bethany. Nine players earned all conference honors as Ottawa improved from 12 wins to 28-18. Softball swept ECAC regular season and tournament titles and advanced to the NAIA World Series, going 15-1 to claim the regular season crown and reaching the ECAC title game on a dramatic three run homer.

Wellsville Eagles Reach Playoff Run Behind Dominant Ground Game
The Wellsville Eagles finished 10-2 after an 8-1 regular season, rushing for over 3,000 yards. They defeated Frontenac and Neodesha in the playoffs before falling to Silver Lake, the state champions, in a strong late-season run managed by coach Greg Mast.

Ottawa University adds transfer pitcher from North Central Missouri
Ottawa University signs Josh Reeves, a pitcher from North Central Missouri College, who earned two baseball letters and played for Warensburg High School Tigers. The university also adds Osage City High School senior Deidra Jones and West Platte High School senior Katryn Bodoh to its softball program. Jones excelled on a state runner up summer team in 2010 and claimed ASA and USSA honors. Ottawa coach Jay Kahnt praises Jones as a proven winner and strong catcher.
