French journalists freed after four months in Iraq
Two French reporters Chesnot and Malbrunat were released by the Islamic Army of Iraq after 124 days in captivity. France denied any ransom was paid and credited government action and Arab pressure. The journalists, kidnapped August 20 with their Syrian driver, head home to Paris as Paris politics credit solidarity and oppose the Iraq war.
