Engineers oppose dam on Marais des Cygnes above Ottawa
Ottawa city commission members hear Lamar Phillips report that the Corps of Engineers would likely reject a feasibility study for a dam on the Marais des Cygnes just above the sewer disposal plant to serve Ottawans. Willis Fish of the Kansas City district warns the project would harm the channel and be impermissible. The panel plans to consult state officials on any state interests before proceeding. Construction updates include T hangars at the municipal airport and a city cab company relocation with loading-zone needs.
