At $1, the volume covers Paola’s first century with early town pages and a 1879 business district section. The front cover features Mr. and Mrs. Baptiste Peoria, original owners of the townsite.

Maurice Gardner moves to Edgerton's Assumption church and Sacred Heart mission in Gardner after Barttro’s pelvic injury in October. Father Barttro returned downtown Tuesday for the first time since his injury. Glenn Land, an 11 year old athlete from Greenbrier Arkansas, broke both arms attempting a pole vault clear.
