New Reservoir Recommended in Kansas Water Plan
The Kansas Water Resources Board recommended adding the Kendall Reservoir on the Arkansas River west of Garden City to the state water plan. The Army Corps of Engineers would build it at the Kearny Hamilton County line about 40 miles west of Garden City, with a reduced storage capacity from 500 000 acre feet. The board took no action on removing Hillsdale Fort Scott or Cedar Point reservoirs and urged adding four watershed districts.
