May Link Two Murders In Ballistics Tests

Kansas City AP reports ballistics tests will probe a link between two recent murders and the same gun owned by Roy Jack Loren, 21, killed fleeing police. Loren is tied to the slaying of John R. Keach, a prominent lawyer, shot at his home last Tuesday, and to the holdup and killing of liquor store clerk William Baker, 66, on November 30. Joe Jeanette, 49, an acquaintance of Loren, says he drove Loren near the liquor store before the robbery and Loren paid him $2 to wait while he collected money from a woman friend nearby. He then returned about 15 minutes later as police arrived.
