K State sells tickets for Holiday Bowl in San Diego
Kansas State has sold about six hundred tickets from its allotment of eleven thousand five hundred for the Holiday Bowl in San Diego. Tickets through K State are forty dollars while tickets through the Holiday Bowl office are forty six dollars plus postage and handling. The Wildcats hold a ten one record and will meet Washington the seven four in the December twenty ninth Holiday Bowl.

Ottawa High School hosts Paola Friday as the undefeated girls clash at 7:15 p.m. after the junior varsity at 5:30 p.m. Freshman boys improved to 2-0 with a 59-40 win over Paola as Jerod Sigmund led with 20 points. Freshman girls opened their season 1-0 with a 48-16 win over Turner, Jenny Heck scoring 26. Baldwin awaits Ottawa at state ranking. Jessica Walters earned NAIA Region V honors after leading Heart of America Conference with 4.57 kills per game and twice named Region V player of the week.

The Kansas City Royals acquire 24 year old Todd Dunwoody from the Florida Marlins for minor leaguer Sean McNally. Dunwoody hit .220 with 2 homers and 20 RBIs in 64 games for Florida last season and .272 with 9 homers and 36 RBIs in 65 Triple A games. McNally, 27, plays first and third and remains with Calgary. he batted .282 with 36 HR and 109 RBIs in 129 games for Double-A Wichita in 1999.
