Livestock Group Office Questioned In Topeka
In Topeka at a Kansas budget hearing Paul Pendergast questioned why private Kansas Livestock Association offices occupy space in the State Office Building sharing staff with a state agency. A. G. Pickett, secretary of the association and state livestock sanitary official, defends the arrangement, noting the directors serve as the brand commission. The Livestock Sanitary Commission seeks funds after a large budget cut, including 220000 for calf brucellosis vaccination. Pickett argues vaccination is best protection.
