Retired Oil Worker Now A Santa Claus
In El Dorado Kansas Troy Groves a former oil field worker retired in 1958 after 39 years turns junk toys found in a field into repaired Christmas gifts for children through the Salvation Army. His wife suggested the idea and Groves now spends each December gathering sorting and delivering toys from his garage workshop to the charity. He jokes his wife bosses him but says he has time and enjoys the work collecting toys from junk yards and other places and driving them to the Salvation Army himself.
