Cuts threaten substance abuse center amid budget crunch

The center serving Miami and Franklin counties faces possible cuts after a surge of 200 new clients this year and 3,000 across the two counties. Officials warn reduced funding could end individual counseling, raise wait times, and shift to group sessions or dual-diagnosis care only. Staff would bear most cuts, with proposed salary reductions and reduced benefits, as leaders seek more funding and tougher fee collections.
