C Of E Drive At $30 000
Privately funded College of Emporia faces possible closure without rapid fundraising. Chief administrator Robert Prins says the $500,000 year end drive is well short, with only about $30,000 raised by Friday and $100,000 needed to cover salaries for November and December. The college is $300,000 behind on a $1 million capital debt, and a merger attempt with Park College failed. Trustees will decide at next weekend’s meeting.
