Two mysteries with flawed heroes and dangerous games
The review covers two crime novels, Traps by Paul Lindsay and Ghost Image by Joshua Gilder. It highlights Jack Kincade as a once brilliant FBI agent spiraling into alcohol and bank robbery, teaming with Ben Alton to solve a kidnapping case, and the tense hunt for a hidden adversary. It also profiles Jackson Macbry in Ghost Image, a reconstructive surgeon drawn into a baffling case involving a woman named Allie, along with detective Rossi, attorney Manny Lucasian, and secretive pasts, noting uneven character clarity and an unsatisfying ending but overall engaging storytelling
