Turner greenhouse showcases 3000 poinsettias near Ottawa Kansas
Lyle Turner, armed with a horticulture degree from Kansas State University, runs 10 greenhouses producing about 65 plant varieties. His Waterloo area operation ships wholesale and retails to Kansas florists, with 3000 poinsettias cuttings rooted since September and watered via a custom capillary system. The C-1 variety and careful light, humidity, and temperature controls keep plants vibrant into spring. Turner invites shoppers to visit two miles east of I-35 and K-68, then north and east for a holiday display and sale.
