At the Cheyenne Country Bar 27 year old Andrew Lebo of Ottawa reported a wallet stolen with an estimated loss of 135 dollars. A 66 year old Ottawa resident reported mailbox damage at Labette Terrace with 90 dollar loss. A 1997 Buick driven by 25 year old Ottawa man Mark Riddle left the K-68 roadway and overturned near Idaho Road with no injuries. Riddle was later arrested on multiple charges.

Mary L Graham 87 of Ottawa Kansas died Friday December 9 at Hillside in Desoto. Visitation 11 a.m. Tuesday December 13 2011 at Woodlawn Cemetery west of Pomona. She was born May 16 1924 in Ottawa to James E and Edna Pearl Lighty Rice. She lived in Ottawa most of her life and was active in Lincoln Teachers Association Ottawa City Association and Friends of the Ottawa Library. She married Robert N Graham December 25 1944 in Wichita. he died January 10 1988. Survivors include many grandchildren and a sister Eula Branson. Mary Jean Jeanie Rossman 65 of Pomona died December 10 2011 at Kansas City Hospice House. Services December 15 2011 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church Ottawa with burial at St Boniface Cemetery Scipio. Born March 21 1946 in Garnett to Louis and Frances Beard she lived in Pomona area most of her life. She worked for H D Lee Ottawa and ran a home day care while her children were young. From 1981 to 1997 she was composing supervisor for the Ottawa Herald and also helped with advertising and the Trading Post Weekly. She was active at Sacred Heart Church Ottawa a lector and CCD teacher and former Greenwood Township board member and Pomona Pioneers 4 H co founder. She married Donald L Rossman October 19 1968. he died June 5 2006. Survived by son Tim Rossman and wife Wendy Williamsburg a daughter JoAnna Smith and husband Wendell Clathe brothers Richard Ecord Pomona Ronald Ecord Los Alamosa CO sisters Joan Geer Garnett Ruth Trendel Pomona Patti Fine Pomona Eva Stone Garnett Lois Eoord Topeka four grandchildren Emma Rossman Molly Rossman Taylor Smith Louis Smith and many nieces nephews and cousins. Preceded by parents and sister Jessie Lickneg. Friends may pay respects January 1 p.m. to service at Lamb-Roberts Funeral Home with rosary at 6 p.m. and family hours 6:30 p.m. to 8 p.m. Wednesday.
